If your child has Swimmer’s Ear, you may notice redness in and around the ear canal, pain in the ear, pus or fluid, decreased hearing and itching. If untreated, the symptoms may develop and spread to the tissues near the ear and even the bone. You should seek immediate medical advice if you notice any of the above symptoms, especially if your child complains of pain that radiates around the face, neck or head, or if you notice swelling in the lymph nodes in the neck.
Prevention is better than cure, and the Ear Band-It is a headband designed to hold ear plugs in place while your child is swimming. It’s comfortable to wear and is very effective for children with grommets or eardrum perforation, with large ear flaps to provide full ear coverage. The earplugs included with the Ear Band-It are made from silicone that enables them to float on the water if they fall out or become dislodged, and the adjustable velcro closure ensures a secure fit.
